He was the son of the late George and Lula Brookshire Center and was preceded in death by his son, Richard Center; sister, Edith Carpenter; brothers, Clarence Center and Clay Center.
Arvil was a member of the National Guard and attended Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church. He loved the mountains and the beach. Arvil was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Thomason Center of the residence; children and their spouses, Elaine and Tommy Jones of Chatsworth, Mary Center of Dalton, Rebecca Ownbey of Cedar Bluff, AL, Dana and Anna Center of Dalton, Nathan and Marchele Center of Dalton, Sharon Green of Chatsworth, Sandra Battles of Chattanooga and Edward Huskey of Chattanooga; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 9 PM.
