Mr. Raymond S. Harris, Sr., 73, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Friday December 25, 2009 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late, Austin and Nina McIntire Harris and was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery A. Harris, Sr.; brothers, Billy Harris and A. W. Harris; sisters, Christine Sledge and Phyllis Hurson.
Raymond was a member of the Dalton Masonic Lodge # 105 F & AM and was a member of the Atlanta Yaraab Shrine's.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Genieve Fowler Harris of Tunnel Hill; son, Raymond Harris, Jr. of Tunnel HIll; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Rymer of Cleveland, TN.; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Margaret Harris of Dalton; grandchildren, Jeff A. Harris, Jr., Amanda Cordovi, Jeremy Rymer, Adrian Rymer, Cherie Rymer and Eric Harris; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 2 P.M. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Keely Hasty and the Rev. Mark Atkins officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with Masonic Lodge #102 in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday after 4 P.M.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, GA. Chapter, 922 E. Morris St., Dalton, GA. 30721 or to The Gideons International, Dalton Central Camp, P.O. Box 6277, Dalton, Ga. 30722.
