Mrs. Vera Marie Dillard Howell, 99, of Dalton, went to be with the Lord, Friday December 25, 2009.
She was the daughter of the late, Lum and Barbara Baggett Dillard and was preceded in death by her husband, James D. “Dink” Howell and her daughter, Janice Marie Quarles.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was retired from McCroy's Department Store.
Vera was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by her dear family; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Eddie Powell of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Frances Howell of Dalton, James and Julie Howell of Atlanta; son-in-law, Jimmy Quarles of Dalton; sister-in-law, Aileen Dillard of Dalton; grandchildren, Norman and Ginger Powell of Atlanta, Cindy Powell of Decatur, Chris and Anita Quarles, Megan and Jason Robinson all of Dalton; great-grandchildren, Sarah Ann Powell, Emma Quarles, Carter Quarles and Aiden Robinson; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Sam Dillard and Rev. Ken Fuller officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 10 A.M. to
1 P.M.
