Mrs. Opal Kelsay Bloomingburg, 93, of Dalton, departed this life Monday morning, January 4,2010 at her home. She was born October 31, 1916 in High Point, Missouri, daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Kelsay and Grace Kelsay Lehman. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Bloomingburg; sisters, Ceola Barnes and Doris Bruce; brothers, Kenneth Kelsay, Mike Lehman, Allen Lehman and Miller Lehman.
Prior to her move to dalton, she resided in Arlington, VA. She retired from the Department of Defense at the Pentagon.
Mrs. Bloomingburg was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Dalton.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bloomingburg of Dalton; sisters Loyce Sharp of Sun City West, AZ., Charlene Schnack of Jefferson City, MO. and Donna Eager of Odessa, TX.; brother Vence Lehman of California, MO; many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Ross Woods Adult Day Care, 1428 Ross Dr., Dalton, GA. 30720 or to Hamilton Hospice, P.O. Box 1168, Dalton, GA. 30722-1168 or to one’s favorite charity.
