Mrs. Joan Hale Orr, 74, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late, John F. Hale and Catherine Z. Hale of Chattanooga, TN. Joan was born and raised in Chattanooga where she graduated from Girls Preparatory School. She also attended Randolph Macon College in Lynchburg, VA.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, L.S. Orr, Jr. and her son, Steven Scott Orr.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Karen Orr of Atlanta, Mark and Laura Orr of Dalton.
Granddaughters, Catherine and Emily Orr of Atlanta, Anna and Kate Orr of Dalton.
Cousins, Sylvia Cash of Rome, Mark Zbinden of Chattanooga, Dr. Louis Zbinden of San Antonio, Tx., and George Lynch of Birmingham, AL.
Services will be Saturday at 11 A.M. in the Sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Joe Peabody and Dr. Louis Zbinden officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence on Friday from 6 to 8 P.M.
The family will also receive friends in the Atrium of the Church one hour prior to the service (10 A.M. to 11 A.M.)
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prayer Garden of the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 627, Dalton, GA. 30722-0627.
