Mr. Randolph Augustus Norman, Jr., 94 of Dalton and formerly of Calhoun City. MS. died Saturday, July 15, 2006.
He was the son of the late, Randolph Augustus Norman, Sr and Nora Emma Boren Norman and was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian H. Norman; grandson, William Bernard Killen; sisters, Velma Fairly, Alta Parker and Doris Miller; brothers, Ava Norman, Troy Norman and Edward Norman.
He was a life-long restaurateur who owned restaurants in Eupora, Water Valley, Houston and Calhoun City, Ms. His last restaurant was the R & L which he owned for approximately 50 years and managed with his wife, Lillian, until she became disabled by a stroke in 1979. He also taught culinary skills to inmates at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman during the 1960’s and 1970’s. He was a World War ll veteran who served his country proudly for “five years, five months, and six days” as he would often say. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Linda and Norman and Robert Ryan of Dalton.

Sister, Elizabeth Morgan of Grant, Al.
Brothers, James Norman and Robert Norman both of Calhoun City, MS.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. from the Chapel of Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun, Ms with the Rev. Jimmy Vance officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calhoun City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Pryor Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 8 P.M.
