Mrs. Marcile Wesley Crutchfield, 82, of Dalton, Passed away Wednesday, February, 17, 2010.
She was born January 6, 1928 in Concord, GA. and was the daughter of the late, Douglas and Grace Cochran Wesley.
She graduated from G.S.C.W. in Milledgeville in 1947, came to Dalton and started teaching at the age of 19. She taught in the Dalton Public Schools for 25 Years.
Her special love was education and she loved to visit with former students. She was very active in the community and church.
Marcile was a member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church, was a past president and member of the Fellowship Sunday Class for over 50 years. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was President of the United Methodist Women and a Grey Lady at Hamilton Medical Center for 25 years. Marcile was also involved with the Straw Hat Follies, D. J. W. C. and was a Scout Leader. Her life revolved around her family and friends and neighbors. She enjoyed eating with the lunch bunch girls.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Paul Crutchfield of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Chris Bunch of Dalton; grandchildren, Julie and Mark Cody of Rome, GA., and Jason Bunch and Stephanie Fuller of Dalton; brother, Jimmy Wesley of Meansville, GA.; nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 P.M. from the Dalton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Robin Lindsey and Dr. Bill Floyd officiating.
Burial will follow in West HIll Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Thursday after 4 P.M.
