Mrs. Clara Mae Evans Joyce Euton, a long time resident of Dalton went to be with her savior July 26, 2006 while surrounded by her loving family at the home of her grandson, Jerry.
She was born in Pickens County, Ga. on December 29, 1915
She was the daughter of the late, Arthur and Florence Yancey Evans and was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Mutt” Harvey Joyce in 1944;son, William Arthur “Billy” Joyce in 1958; Grandson, Rodney Lamar Joyce in 1954;special niece, Omagene Swanson Jennings; sister and brother-in-law, Eula Faye and Clint Swanson; her late husband, William Otis Euton in 1983 and grandson, Brett Euton.
Clara worked for the old Thread Mill and also for J. W. Bray for many years as she raised her two sons alone. She cared for her father when he became ill until his death. She also cared for her mother while raising her grandson, Jerry alone until meeting and marrying her second husband in 1973. She was a member of the South Dalton Baptist Church for over seventy years. She always lived her life caring, loving, and doing for others.
Clara is survived by her son, Gerald Lamar Joyce, Sr and special friend, Earline Camp of Dalton.
Step-son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Shelli Euton of St Louis, Mo.
Grandchildren and their spouses, Gerald Lamar “Jerry” Joyce, Jr. and Karen Yvonne Long Joyce, Charles Edward “Chuck” Joyce all of Dalton, Kevin, Jesse and Kelli Euton of St. Louis, MO.
Great-Grandchildren and their spouses, Clifford Jeremiah “C.J.” and Tiffany Nicole Joyce, Jacob Brewer, Christy Long all of Dalton.
Great-Great-Grandchildren,Catrin Michelle Wofford, Johnathan Kristoffer Lee Lumpkin, Destiny Abbigail Lumpkin, Serenity Grace Joyce all of Dalton.
Step-Great-Great-Granddaughters, Presley and Kaylon Sturgill all of Dalton.
Services will be Sunday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Price and the Rev. Timothy Chastain officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial gardens.
The Family will receive friends at Love Funeral home Saturday from 2 to 6 P.M.
