Deeette Ashworth

Mrs. DeeEtte Ashworth, 79, of Dalton, passed away peacefully, with family at her side after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was born in Chatsworth, GA., January 10, 1931, daughter of the late, Hughes and Minnie Calhoun and was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church.
DeeEtte is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Wendell Ashworth of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Lane and Deborah Ashworth of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Doug Peters of Dalton; grandchildren, Brandon Peters, Spencer Peters and Ashleigh Peters all of Dalton; first cousins, Jewel Jackson, Margie and Richard Scott and Betty Singleton all of Chatsworth and second cousin, Kay Jackson of Chatsworth; nephew and niece, Carson and Elizabeth Ashworth of Dahlonega,GA. and their four children and many special friends.
Services will be Friday at 3 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Billy T. Nimmons and the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating. Honorary pallbearer’s will be her Sunday school class “Amazing Grace” and her bridge clubs.
The family will receive friends Friday in the Atrium of the First Baptist Church from noon to 3 P.M.
