Mrs. Evoline Denson Smith, 88, of Dalton, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late William Marcus and Julia Elizabeth (Bessie) Cleghorn Denson and was preceded in death by her husband Oscar W. Smith and all her brothers and sisters and twin grandchildren.
Evoline was a charter member of Cross Pointe Christian Centre for 67 years. Evoline and Oscar where the owners of Smith’s Cafe for 37 years.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Billy and Pat Smith, Betty and Johnny Jenkins all of Dalton, Janet Purcell of Douglasville, GA. Henry and Debbie Smith of Dalton and Beverly and Joe Welch of Rocky Face; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews; special friends, Jean and Gary Tomberlin and Ken Purcell.
Funeral services will be at 2 Thursday from Cross Pointe Christian Centre with the Rev, Gary Tomberlin the Rev. Stan Lester and the Rev. Bruce Edwards officiating.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. and she will lie-in-state at the Church on Thursday from noon til the funeral hour at 2.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Cross Pointe Christian Centre, 2681 Underwood St., Dalton, GA. 30721.
