Mr. Edgar William Hall, 93, of Dalton passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010.
He was the son of the late William and Della Arnold Hall and was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hall and daughter, Patricia Lane Hall.
Edgar was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in North Africa and Italy. He was a member of American Legion Post # 112, VFW, and the Golden Age Club. He was a regular visitor of the Senior Citizen Center and was a loyal supporter of Cheerhaven School (Crossplains) for his daughter Lane. He was a pillar of the community and well loved by everyone, especially his family and on June 24, 2008 the City of Dalton designated that day, Edgar W. Hall Day. He was our “Rock” and our “Little Giant” and his first priority was Lane and family.
Edgar is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Richard Chumley of Dalton; grandchildren, Ashley Richann Chumley, Charles Bo Headden, Richard and Tara Chumley, Ricky and Christie Chumley; great-grandchildren, Charlton Rhett Headden, Eli Chumley, Jacob Chumley, Steele Chumley, Chesney Chumley and Whitney Chumley; loving nieces and nephews; special friends, Al Headrick, Mark Pulver, Frank Barnes, David Henderson, Karen Gentry, Donna Quinn, Paulette Meeks, Margie Davis, Linda and Chad Long and his friends at Parker’s and Powell’s restaurant.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 4 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Pastor David Henderson officiating.
Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post #112 in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.
