Mr. Marvin L. Green, 80, of Dalton passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Lewis and Jean Green and was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Green, Bob Green and Ed Green; two infant sons, Stephen Lloyd and David Edward; and infant daughter, Donna Elaine.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Jo Howell Green of Dalton; son, Larry and Paulette Green of Dalton; daughters, Pam and Don Poteet, Teresa and Wayne James, Renee and Steve Barton all of Dalton; grandchildren, Jeff and Joylene Green, Matt and Erika Green, Amanda and Jody Phillips, Jason and Tara Poteet, Stephanie and Daniel Fossett, Chris and Amy James, Melissa and Josh Reed, Alisha Barton and Rachel Barton; sister, Martha and Isaac Painter of Dalton; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. from the First Baptist Church in Dalton with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Harris, Chuck Herbert, Dewey Hughes, Randall Maret, Mike Clark and Dennis Mock. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Green Spot employees and all the faithful, loving customers Marvin has been privileged to serve during his years.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 8 P.M.
The family asks that flowers be please be omitted and memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Dalton, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, Ga. 30722-0827.
