Alfred D. Bailey

Mr. Alfred D. Bailey, 83, of Dalton, passed away Friday morning June 4, 2010 at his residence after a battle with lung cancer.
He was the son of the late George Dennis Bailey and Lizzie Bell Bailey and was preceded in death by his sister, Edwina Bailey and brother, Martin Bailey.
Alfred was a Navy Veteran of World War II; was retired from Dalton Supply Company; a member of Five Springs United Methodist Church; a lifetime member of the Yaarab Temple; a Mason and a past president of the Dalton Shrine Club.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Frances Clement Bailey of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Wendy Bailey of Dalton; daughter, Patricia Bailey Devlin of Dalton; grandchildren, Matthew Bailey, Erin Bailey, Ryan Devlin and Corporal Skylar Devlin, USMC; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Peggy Bailey of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Doris Bailey of Asheville, NC. and Florence Hammock of Murfreesboro, TN.; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M.
Private services will be held.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family asks that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to Five Springs United Methodist Church, 2823 Five Springs Rd., Dalton, Ga. 30720.
