Mr. Ray L. Cochran, 83, of Dalton, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late, William Reno and Ophie Elizabeth Tarpley Cochran and was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Oma Jeane Ward, Lake Cochran, Tate Cochran, Letcher (Lefty) Cochran, Felton Cochran and Dennis Cochran.
Ray was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was a loving husband, brother father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elsie Mae Smith Cochran of Dalton; chlidren and their spouses, Kathie and Robert Waters of Austin, TX. Janice and Dr. Raymond Horne of Selina, TX., Rex and Joi Cochran of Tunnel Hill, Lynn and Debra Cochran of Dalton, Susie and Tim Holcomb of Ringgold; sisters, Beauna Babb and Alice Rigney both of Ringgold, brothers and sisters-in-law, Odell and Sylvia Cochran, Harold and Joan Cochran all of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hayes, Laura Langley, Dwight Horne, Matthew Horne, Kerri Earwood, Angelia Wyatt, Alex Cochran, Zach Cochran, Valerie Holcomb and Austin Holcomb; great-grandchildren, Brittany Hayes, Keely Langley, Jadon Langley, Ella Reid, Nathan Earwood, Scott Earwood, Adam Wyatt, Austin Wyatt and Emily Wyatt; the father of Elizabeth Hayes, Ray Buck, III of Arizona; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan McNeese and Dr. Raymond Horne officiating.
Burial will be Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Awana’s program at Calvary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 3859, Dalton, Ga. 30719.
