Mr. William A. “Bill” Bradford. 86, of Dalton, passed away Thursday June 10, 2010 at his residence, in the Redwine Cove Communnity.
He was the son of the late Roy H. and Ida Copeland Bradford and was preceded in death by his sisters, Avaleen Beckwith and Gladys Cline; brother, Henry Bradford.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and fought in W.W. II “D-Day” and received the purple heart. He was a member and deacon of the Swamp Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Tilton Masonic Lodge 291.
He is survived by his loving wife, Loraine Wilson Bradford of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Lanette Bradford, John and Martha Bradford all of Dalton; grandchildren, Khristyal Brooke Bradford. Colter Bradford and Cassidy Bradford all of Dalton and Emily Vaughn of Lyerly, GA., brother and sisters-in-law, Howard and Gail Bradford and Imogene Bradford all of Dalton; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. at the Swamp Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Donny Caylor and the Rev. Wayne Marcus officiating.
Burial will follow in the Swamp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Friday after 5 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Swamp Creek Baptist Church, 245 Carbondale Road, Dalton, GA. 30721 or to one’s favorite charity.
