Mrs. Edythe Smith Davenport of Cumming, Georgia died July 17, 2010 after a long illness.
Born in Randleman, NC, she grew up in Southern Pines, NC and lived and worked in Raleigh, NC for many years before moving to Dalton, GA in 1986. She had moved to Cumming in 2008.
A member of Cumming First United Methodist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Lee Davenport, as well as her sisters, Wilma Reid and Lenora Memmel.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Cochran, of Cumming, her granddaughter and granddaughter’s husband, Kimberly Hester Waters and Lee Waters, and great grandchildren Tory and Ben Waters of Dawsonville. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Emma Smith of Oxford, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 4 P.M. in the Chapel of love Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Thursday from 3 to 4 P.M.
