Mr. Mahalon Ray “Jake” Jaco, 61, of Dalton, passed away Monday August 9, 2010 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
He was preceded in death by his father Monroe Jaco and father-in-law, J. D. Nicholson.
Jake was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and loved to hunt and fish.
Jake is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah Nicholson Jaco of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy Jaco Watts and Jim of Kennesaw, GA., Kimberly Jaco Johnson and Joey of Woodstock, GA. ; mother Addie Houser of Lawrenceburg, TN.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Steve Kearbey of Dalton, Yola and Rodney Fickett of Joelton, TN. and Debbie and Danny Elder of Calhoun, GA.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Kathy Jaco of Chatsworth, Rodger and Sherry Jaco of Calhoun and Ricky Jaco of Lawrenceburg, TN.; grandchildren, Ansley Watts, Mackenzie Watts and Jacob Johnson; mother-in-law, Nita Nicholson of Dalton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen and Clark Hanes of Peachtree City, GA. and Sharon Wedgworth, FL.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 3 P. M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Trammell Campbell officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with the American Legion post #112 in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
