Mr. Stephen N. Hammontree, 58, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Monday August 9, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fannie Mae Thompson and grandfather, Jesse L. Bryson.
Stephen was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Rock Bridge Community Church, were he was head usher. He was property manger of the Calhoun Gardens and Cartersville Gardens. Stephen was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan and loved to golf, he was past District Governor for the Ruritan International.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Connie Sullivan Hammontree of Tunnel Hill; son and daughter-in-law, SGT. Stephen C. and Joy Hammontree of Oscan, Korea; step-son, Bruce and Vicki Davis of Dalton; parents, Ralph Hammontree, Sr. and Irene Bryson Hammontree of Dalton; brothers, Jerry Bryson of Rocky Face, GA, Ralph Hammontree, Jr. and Sharon, Doug and Amy Hammontree and Tony and Diane Hammontree all of Dalton; grandchildren, Brett Hammontree, Brock Hammontree, Brayden Hammontree, Ashley and Eric Lloyd and Jake Davis; great-grandchild, Maddox Lloyd; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 3 P.M. Sunday from Rock Bridge Community Church with the Rev. Matt Evans and the Rev. Alfred Turley officiating.
The family will recieve friends at the Love Funeral Home Saturday from 5 til 9 P.M.
Stephen will lie-in-state at the Church from 1:30 till the funeral hour at 3 P.M.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rock Bridge Community Church, 100 W. Gordon St., Dalton, GA. 30720.
