James Laster

Mr. James Theodore Laster, 78, of Dalton, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at his residence.
He was the son of the late, John Thomas Laster and Janie Lou Cleary Laster and was preceded in death by his brothers, W.R. Laster, Thomas Laster and T.J. Laster; sisters, Ruby Allman and Carrie Holsomback.
James was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Hazel Hall Laster of Dalton; children, Lisa and Robert Leamon, Rick and Traci Laster all of Dalton; grandchildren, Jameson Bearden, Luke Bearden, Evan Laster, Owen Laster, Brittany, Kayla, Shandre and Robbie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Gloria Laster of Dallas, GA., Frank and Lois Laster of Dalton, Jack and Brenda Laster of Dalton; sisters, Bobbie Rolen and Mary Lou Gobble both of Dalton; special friend, Archie Leamon of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Sunday at 2 P.M. at the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post 112 in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from 5 to 8 P.M.
