Mrs. Edith Whaley Black, 94, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar H. Black, Sr. in 1992; children, Joyce Yother and Gary Black; grandson, Richie Goodrum; and granddaughter, Robin Black.
Edith was a member of Mount Rachel Baptist Church since 1936.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia “Pat” Womack of Dalton, Edwina and Parmelee Ward, II of Blairsville, GA. and Helen Weaver of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Edgar “Eddie” Black, Jr. and Sherida of Summerville, GA.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will Monday at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Curtis officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M.
