Mr. Emmett Merrill Henton, 87, of Dalton, died Thursday, November 9, 2006, in the comfort of his home.
He was born in Whitfield County, November 1,1919, son of the late David Cliff and Annie Nesbitt Henton and resided his entire life here; he was a devoted member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School class. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Townsend.
Emmett is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Geneva Campbell Henton of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Teresa Henton of Dalton; Daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Chuck Harris of Dalton, Grandchildren, Colby Henton,
Meral Henton and Mary Campbell Harris all of Dalton; Nephew, Haynes Townsend of Dalton.
Services will be Saturday at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Dr. Joe Peabody and Mr. Chuck Harris officiating.
Burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 627, Dalton, Georgia 30722-0627.
