Mrs. Dixie Hyde Clark, of Dalton, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born on September 22, 1937 in Calhoun, GA and lived most of her life in Dalton. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Lee Hyde and Inez Ledford Hyde. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, J. Michael Clark; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Stan McKay, of Madison, AL; son and daughter-in-law, John and Chris Clark of Kennesaw, GA; sisters, Sue Lane Helton and Dianne Nave, both of Ringgold, GA; brother, Dale Hyde, of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Chase McKay, Audrey Clark, Shannon Clark, and Kate McKay; nieces, Amy Helton Fletcher and Holly Nave Kittle, of Ringgold; nephews, Stacy Helton of Chattanooga, TN, Griffin Hyde, of Augusta, GA, and Nathan Hyde, of Anderson, SC; an uncle, cousins, and many special friends).
Mrs. Clark was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton. She was an avid volunteer, giving many hours of service to various organizations throughout her life. Most recently, she was a volunteer at Hamilton Medical Center and her church library.
The family will receive friends in the atrium at the First Baptist Church of Dalton on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 4-6 p.m. following a private service at Whitfield Memorial Garden officiated by Mr. Dewey Hughes.
