James Pierce, Jr.

Mr. James E. Pierce, Jr, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
A native of Dalton, James was a well-known business man; starting his career in the carpet industry over 50 years ago, beginning with Candlewick Yarns. James has been evolved in several carpet-related businesses since the1960's. In 1978, he organized his own company- P&O Packaging. James loved antique cars, golf and his pets: Sophie, Bella and Jack. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and a purple heart recipient.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James, Sr. and Rosa Pierce; and one sister, Easter McMillan.
James is survived by his wife (the love of his life) Ann Pierce of Dalton; one daughter, Kim Pierce of Dalton; sister; Elizabeth (Swint) Bradberry of Spartanburg, SC.; brother-in-law, Gene (Ann) Officer of Cleveland, Tn.;
special neice, Julie (Dewayne) Wilson and their five beautiful children of Cleveland, Tn.; two very special friends that James cherished: Bobby London and William Hall; and several neices and nephews.
Special thanks to Hamilton Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness shown to James.
Services will be Sunday at 4 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton with Dr. Mickey Shealy and Dr. Billy Nimmons officiating.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church Sunday from
2 to 4 P.M.
