Mrs. Doris Jean Spoonamore Ball, 77, of Dalton, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late, McKechnie and Jewel Buchanan Spoonamore and was preceded in death by her brothers, Carol Miller Spoonamore and Glenn Owen Spoonamore.
Doris was a member of the Dalton First Presbyterian Church for 45 years, where she served in many roles and was also a member of the Sounds of Joy Choir.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Charles Ball of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Michael Hefner of Birmingham, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Melessia Ball of Dalton; grandchildren, Justin Ross Hefner, Emily Lauren Hefner, Joseph Tyler Hefner, Virginia Katherine Ball-Marcelli and Aaron, Charles Miller Ball and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Lily Faith Ball and Ella Ruth Ball; special niece, Linda Carol Spoonamore; other nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton with Dr. Mickey Shealy and Rev. Tyler Downing officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
