Mrs. Elsa Axelson Rehberg, 98, of Dalton, passed away Friday November 26, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Elsa was born on September 12, 1912 in Harvey, IL. to Karl and Alma Axelson. She was preceded in death by her husband Irvin Rehberg, son Gordon Rehberg, brother E. Roy Dahlson, and sisters Mary Carpenter and Esther Walberg. After retiring from Flossmoor High School in Harvey, IL. Elsa moved to Dalton where she was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and a volunteer with the Friendship House. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Susie Rehberg of Dalton; daughter-in-law, Judy Rehberg of Dalton; grandchildren Christopher and Rita Rehberg of Dalton, Jonathan and Emily Rehberg of Birmingham, AL and Nicholas Rehberg of New York, New York; great-grandchildren Lily Rehberg, Reid Rehberg, Cooper Rehberg and Riley Rehberg; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Monday from the Christ of the King Lutheran Church with Pastor John Rossing officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday starting at 1 P.M. until the service at 2.
A private inurnment will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
