Christyne Crutchfield Townsend

Mrs. Christyne Crutchfield Townsend, 79, of Dalton, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tn.
She was a member of Dalton First United Methodist Church and retired from the Dalton Public Schools after 31 years, beginning at Crown School and then at Westwood School.
Christyne was the daughter of the late, T.M. and Mary Burkett Crutchfield and was preceded in death by her husband, Malvin Townsend; son, Donnie Townsend and daughter, Debra Townsend.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sandra Townsend and Ricky Townsend all of Dalton; brothers and sister-in-law, Paul and Marcile Crutchfield and Drennon Crutchfield all of Dalton; grandchildren. Jennifer and Joe Anton of Monroe, Ga., Jeff Townsend and Greg Townsend both of Dalton, Drew Townsend of Loganville, Ga. and Tanner Townsend of Dalton; great-grandson, Jaxon Townsend Anton of Monroe; Special friends, Mary Beth Smith, Gertrude Harris and Eleanor Jackson all of Dalton; Nieces and nephews also survive.
A special thanks to all her friends and staff at Peachtree Estates.
Services will be Sunday at 2 P.M. at the Dalton First United Methodist Church with the Dr. Joe Peabody officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from 4 to 7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Dalton Public Schools, in memory of Christyne Townsend (to be used for children in need of help), Dalton Public Schools, P.O.
