Mr. Charles W. “Charlie” Gentry, 78, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home. He was a retired truck driver and was known as “Leadfoot”.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Margarett Redwine Gentry in July of 2006; brothers, Leroy Gentry and Buddy Gentry; sister, Juanita Grant and brother-in-law, Clifford Redwine.
Charlie is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Tommy Parker of Dalton, Fay and Tommy Oney of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Karen Gentry, Ronnie Gentry, Ricky Gentry, Robby and Rachel Gentry all of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Carlton Wininger of Tunnel Hill; sister-in-law, Sandra Redwine of Garfield Heights, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with one expected in July; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman Parker officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 to
8 P.M.
