Johnny C. Metcalf

Mr. Johnny C. Metcalf, of Dalton, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Metcalf in 1985. Johnny and Mary were the owners of the Oakwood Cafe for 42 years. He was also preceded in death by his step-son, Clay Scott.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Barbara Metcalf of Dalton; daughter Ann Metcalf Mathis of Dalton; Pete Mathis of Cave Spring, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lisa Metcalf of Dalton; grandchildren, Tondee Hudson of Chattanooga, Tn., Marti Register of Birmingham, Al., Peter Mathis of Atlanta, Tyler Metcalf, Tate Metcalf and Abbie Metcalf all of Dalton; great-grandchildren, Will Hudson, Ben Hudson and Mary Chappell Register; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.
Private services will be held with the Dr. Billy T. Nimmons officiating and burial will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, Ga. 30722-0827.
