Agnes Stanley Fossett

Mrs. Agnes Stanley Fossett, 85, of Dalton passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Agnes was a faithful and devoted wife of 62 years, to her surviving husband George. Out of a combined 15 other siblings and their spouses, George and Agnes are/were both the last remaining members of their respective families. Their love and respect for their marriage, their love of their family, their love of laughter, their love of always having good meals around a table, and their faith in each other and the Lord, undoubtedly played a role in their long and happy marriage.

Agnes was a wonderful, shining example of what a mother, grandmother and great grandmother should be and aspire to. Her family was at the center of everything she did. She was a warm, nurturing soul, and she leaves behind a family that will always miss and love her, but is both blessed and thankful to have had her grace their lives. She was a treasure. The heavens just gained a wonderful angel.

She was the daughter of the late Malloy Stanley and Laura Connelly Stanley and was preceded in death by her sisters, Maudain Brown and Daisy Stanley Haley; brothers, Clint Whitener, Lloyd Whitener, Clyde Whitener, Grady Stanley, Howard Stanley and James Stanley.

Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, George Fossett; sons, Mark Fossett and Shannon Fossett both of Dalton; grandchildren, Jade Robertson and Trystan Fossett; great-grandsons, Haygen Cummings, Eli Fossett, Kyzer Fossett and Decker Fossett; special lifelong friend, Hazel Metcalf; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Sunday at 4:00 in the chapel of Love Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 12 until 4 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
