Arnetta Ruby Duckett

March 26, 1929 — December 27, 2020

Arnetta Ruby Duckett went home to be with her Lord on 27 December 2020. She is the last of the greatest generation of our family. Arnetta was born on 26 March 1929 in Hamilton County, Tennessee to Daniel Levi and Emaline (Stuart) Lewis.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Byron V. Duckett; husband Lester F. Duckett; sister Beatrice Phillips;brothers Roscoe, Dewitt, L.J., and Ernest Lewis; and grandparents Henry Jefferson & Elizabeth (Mahoney) Lewis and Lorenza D. & Jane (North) Stuart.

It is a wonder of God’s love that two people who fell in love and married on 24 December 1949 could create the following family that loved Grandma Duckett so much.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Daymon & Debbie Duckett, Wilma & Bill Morgan, Tena & Ricky Stines.

Grandchildren:  Christa Bagley, Leslie Grimes, Leann & Cody Childers, Colby & Missy Duckett, Austin Duckett, Eric & Jennifer Cucksee, Tara Cucksee, Jesse & Sarah Cucksee, Amber & Correy Harris, and Matthew Stines.

Great grandchildren: Hope & Caleb Branson, Halle Bagley, Zach Coleman, Bailey Grimes, Londyn Childers, Brayson Childers, Alyssa Cucksee, Ian Cucksee, Luke Cucksee, Maddox Cucksee, Rawling Duckett, Maddox Duckett, Jackson Cucksee, Amari Harris, and Isaiah Benton.

Great great-grandchild: Emersyn Grace Branson. Many nieces and nephews survive her as well.

To all who knew her, Arnetta was kind and loving, a caretaker of many.  Her gentle presence will be greatly missed.

Proverbs 31:26-31 NIV

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:  “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”  Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 9:30 until 11:00.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
