Barbara Jane Lightfoot

Barbara Farmer Lightfoot, age 88, of Dalton Ga., went home to be with our Lord Sunday October 15th, 2023 at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Farmer and Nell Kittle Farmer, husband Thomas D Lightfoot, stepdaughter Carol (Richard) Neimi and Niece Sammie “Jennell” Lemons.

She is survived by her stepson, Thomas “Doyle” Lightfoot III, grandchildren, Jeremy and Cody Niemi, Christopher (Christa) Lightfoot, Bethany (Chris) Coggins, Whitney Lightfoot, 5 great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Matthew, Amelia, Jake, Zack, nieces and nephews and Special loved ones, Shelia Stancill, April Ross, Tracy (Todd) Muirhead, Alexa Muirhead, Charlotte Muirhead, Taylor Ann (Shane) Morrison and Ginger (Joel) King.

Barbara was retired after working 30 years for the Atlanta Journal Constitution.  She was also a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain Ga.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held, Saturday November 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Duane Mills officiating.  Inurnment will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

The family will receive friends Saturday November 11, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. til the service hour of 2:00 p.m.
