Barbara Blalock Parker

Ms. Barbara Sue Blalock Parker, age 87, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025.

She was born on Friday, April 16, 1937, in Lindale, Georgia, to the late Mr. James William Blalock and Mrs. Betty Sue Smith Blalock.

Barbara retired from the State of Georgia after serving for many years as an administrator for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing the piano.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her son, Matt (Sharon) Hightower; her grandsons, Andrew Hightower and Austin (Sydney) Hightower; her sister, Judy Blalock; her nieces and nephew, Mia (Mike) Ware, Mandy (Daniel) Blankenship, and Rusty (Stacey) Lount.  She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Barbara's life will be conducted on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara's memory to Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Dalton, Georgia.
