It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Andrew Siegel, who was born in Boston, MA on 10/18/66 and died in Dalton, GA on 9/22/24. Barry was an avid reader and history buff, with a special interest in military history inspired by our father's military service during WWII. He also enjoyed science fiction and collected Star Trek, Star Wars and other memorabilia.
Barry was preceded in death by his father Sidney Siegel and mother Adele Siegel, who were members of Grace Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his brother David Siegel of Marietta, GA, numerous cousins in New England, and many friends in Dalton, GA. Barry had special needs, and without the community of family friends both inside and outside the church, he would not have received the care that he needed so desperately. Only with their love and protection was Barry able to live his life with the dignity and respect that he wanted. Barry's willfulness was one of his most unique qualities and while it may have challenged us at times, we were made the better for it. The family wants to thank everyone who was there for him. We can all rest well with the knowledge that he is in the gentle hands of our Heavenly Father.
A memorial service will be held for Barry at Grace Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Grace Medical Outreach Ministry, 2107 Threadmill Road, Dalton, GA 30720 or online at Grace Medical Outreach or also to Grace Presbyterian Church.
