Betty Ann Cornelison

July 19, 1955 — February 16, 2024

Betty Ann Cornelison, 68, of Gulfport died February 16, 2024.  She was born in Dalton, GA to the late John E. Cornelison and Ann Roach Miller. She was a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's in English and a Specialist’s Degree in Library Science and had a Mathematics Certification. She spent her career as a Math Teacher and Librarian retiring from the Pass Christian High School. She was a staunch Pass High School sports supporter, an avid USM sports fan, and Saints fan.

As a member of Nugent United Methodist Church, her church family was dear to her heart. She was also a part of the USM Alumni Association, Campus Crusades Supporter, and Reliant Missions Supporter.

Betty was as fiercely loyal a friend as she was stubborn. She loved her family and her friends. Her second family has been grafted into our biological family for years. She loved us all equally. She was a devoted sister and aunt and was determined to set everyone on the right path in life; one way or another. Betty had a close-knit group of co-teachers who were her best friends. She remained close to friends in Hattiesburg, MS as well. She also was a daily visitor to Chick-fil-A in Gulfport, MS, where she knew almost everyone by name. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and stepmother, Reine Cornelison.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Myers and husband, Jimmy; and Carolyn Noé and wife, Areti; brother, John Cornelison, and wife, Elyse; nieces and nephews, James Myers, and wife, Deedee; Jaimie Young, and husband, Kevin; Katherine and Nathan Cornelison, and Sofia Noé; great nephews and niece, Joshua and Caleb Myers, Michael Hatfield, and Liliann Young; aunts Linda Cornelison and Joy Joyce; cousins Rhonda Cornelison, Donna Greeson, Kathy Childress, Karen Speights, Barbara Ball and Tommy Cornelison; as well as many second cousins; and her second family, Susan Lenoir; Amy (Chris) Barlow, Micah (Kat), Hayden (Peter), Abigail, Melissa (Christopher) Upton, and Declan and Harper.
