Betty Sue Cook

September 7, 1927 — March 9, 2019

Miss Betty Sue Cook, 91, of Dalton passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Dalton Place.

She was the daughter of the late Homer Lee and Edna Spence Cook and was preceded in death by her sisters, Eunice Souther, Lois Cargel, Hazel Gentry, Fornadia Cook, Annie Laura Stanley, and Marguerite Bowman; brothers, Horace, Noel, Ned, and W.A. Cook

Many nieces and nephews survive Betty.

She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. She was also a graduate of Valley Point High School, Berry College, and Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. She was a lifelong teacher, who taught at Valley Point, in Marietta, GA, in Germany, and in England. She was an avid gardener, belonging to Gordon County Garden Club and Carbondale Homemaker’s Club.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Dalton Place and Tapestry Hospice for their love and compassion for Betty.

Services for Betty will be held Thursday at 2 PM in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. George Ross and Dr. Steve Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 until 2.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Center Point Baptist Church, 416 Center Point Dr. S.E. Dalton, GA 30721.
