Billie Ann Wilson Osborn, 94, a lifelong resident of Dalton went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Herschel Osborn. Billie was the daughter of the late, Roy and Annie Lee Brooker Wilson. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Sue Westbrook, Sadie Hale and brother, Buddy Wilson.
Billie was a 1946 graduate of Dalton High School and the Herrin School of Business. Billie maintained lifelong support for her beloved Catamounts. At age 91 she still could be found on Friday nights in the stands of Bill Chappell Stadium. An ultimate goal of hers was reached when at age 88, she wore the Catamount mascot suit on the sidelines of Harmon Field.
Billie’s passion in life was serving others, and she lived that out by helping them walk through the loss of their loved ones. God gifted her with great compassion and skills as she served as Office Manager and Co-Owner of Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home for 44 years. Many in this community remember her with deep gratitude for her love to help, as they walked through their hard seasons of loss.
She was a long time, active member of Dalton First United Methodist Church and more recently The River Community Church. She cherished her relationships with members of her Sunday School class and her Thursday morning Bible study ladies’ group.
For many years she worked diligently with the Pilot Club of Dalton to support her community. Billie served in many leadership roles, including President, of this civic organization.
In her retirement, Billie learned a new skill and became a gifted jewelry maker. She participated in countless craft fairs at her church, in the Dalton community, and later even as she moved to Dalton Place. Her flair for life and desire to continue to love others and share beautiful things with them never wavered.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and love to the staff of Dalton Place for their exceptional care of Billie during the past year and half.
Billie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Frank Percy Jr., her son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Janie Osborn, both of Dalton. Grandchildren and spouses, Frank and Sarah Percy III, Nicki and Bryan Rayburn, Ansley and Brian Harrison, all of Dalton; Chip and Courtney Percy of San Antonio; Wendy and Jeremy Henderson of East Ridge; and Brooke and David Scharfstein of Alpharetta; fifteen great grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Edmond. Cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
The service to celebrate the life of Billie will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, at 2:00 from the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Doctor Brian Clark officiating.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home from 12:00 until 2:00, Friday, June 16th.
