Bobbie Jean Dixon

Bobbie Jean Dixon, age 85, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at home.

Bobbie touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. She was a dedicated Whitfield County Coroner for 24 years and was highly respected by her colleagues. She will also be remembered for her work through Dixon Music, Dixon Ambulance and Bobbie’s Florist, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie and Hoyt Covington; husband, Donald Lee Dixon; brother, Roy Covington; sisters-in-law, Jo Dixon, Sylvia Mulkey, Lucille Robertson and Marie Romine; brothers-in-law, John Dixon and Billy Dixon.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Dixon; granddaughter, Amber Tate (Keith); great-grandsons, Braylen Tate, Waylon Tate and Dawson Tate; sister, Betty Hackel (Tim); like a son, Gary Stephens; special friends, Russell and Glenda Wilson, Randy Goodwin and Ernie and Carletta Verhine; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, September 5th from 4 until 9 PM. Bobbie will be laid to rest in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
