Brenda Marie Higdon Laster

Mrs. Brenda Marie Higdon Laster of Dalton, Georgia; departed this life for her eternal resting place after a difficult battle with cancer.  She passed away just two days after her 77 ^th birthday and 57 ^th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Laster is preceded in death by her parents Quillo and Dorothy Higdon of Dalton, Georgia.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack W. Laster of Dalton, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lemuel “Speedy” and Julie Laster of Rocky Face, Georgia and Loran “Bit” and Tay Laster of Massillon, Ohio.  Grandchildren include Derrick and Kylie L. Woods of Memphis, Tennessee; Joshua Laster of Dalton, Georgia; Blake and Lyndsey Laster of Massillon, Ohio; Joey and Robin Sisemore of Ringgold, Georgia; and Ryan and Erin Riddle of Chickamauga, Georgia. Great grand-children include Jameson Laster, Courtney Messer, Tristen Gay, Lexi Sisemore, Juliana, Lauren and Johnny Riddle, and Great-great grand-child Mikaiah Messer. Mrs. Laster is also survived by sister-in-law Bobbie Rolen; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Lois Laster; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda was a Past Worthy Matron of the Dalton Chapter #65 of the Order of the Eastern Star and served for numerous years as President of the Dalton Shrine Club Fezzettes.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the ladies and gentlemen at Hamilton Hospice for their professional and compassionate care provided to Brenda during her last few months.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Love Funeral Home. Burial will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with grave side rites by Rev. Ronald Guffey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
