Bruce was born on September 17, 1951 and spent his entire life, besides his years at the beloved University of Georgia, serving the community of Dalton as a pharmacist and as a State Representative. Bruce was a third generation healthcare professional following the footsteps of his grandfather, Dr. George L. Broadrick and his father, Frank Broadrick, RPh.  Bruce was the owner of his late father’s pharmacy (Frank’s Pharmacy) for 35 years until the pharmacy’s closing in 2009, was a past president of Georgia Pharmacy Association (GPhA)(1995-1997), was vice-chair of the Whitfield County Board of Health, and served as a Georgia State Representative from 2012-2017. Bruce’s greatest satisfaction in life was serving as a pharmacist and being a husband, father, and “Papa Bruce” to his seven grandchildren.  In a letter he wrote in 2009 Bruce said, “pharmacy continues to be my daily focus.  Going home at the end of the day knowing I made a difference in a patient’s life is my satisfaction.”
