Carol Rogers Snell, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, April 15, 2023. Carol was born January 31, 1937, in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late J. Herbert Rogers, Sr. and Will Frances Rogers.
Carol graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1959. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Carol enjoyed teaching children of all ages. She was a Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church Dalton and Grace Presbyterian Church. She shared the love of Christ with young and old alike and felt called with her husband to share her faith in mission service “three months for three years” in the fall of 1999, 2000 and 2001, in Austria and East London, England.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Fred W. Snell; daughter Elizabeth Snell (Lee) Jordan, son Fred “Woody” (Joy) Snell, son J. Ben (Maria) Snell, son Mark McCord (Heather) Snell; brother Jim (Karen) Rogers and sister Mary R. Hardin. Grandchildren include Alison Jordan (Tim) Daughtry, Amanda Jordan (Michael) Garcia, Jake Jordan, Fred W. (Ruthie) Snell IV, Grace (James) Ramsey, Joshua (Carolyn) Snell, Grant Snell, Aaron Snell, Griffin Snell, and Hayden Snell. Great-Grandchildren include Parker and Lucy Daughtry, Isabella Garcia, Brogan and Reece Ramsey, Mills and Fred W. Snell, V. A loving extended family also survives.
The family has entrusted Love Funeral Home with the arrangements. They will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 23, at 2 pm with the funeral service following at 3 pm, 1402 North Thornton Ave, Dalton, Georgia 30720.
