Mrs. Charlene Elizabeth Johnson Hasty, age 80 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Monday May 29, 2023, at her daughters’ home. Charlene was born October 16, 1942, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Frank and Carrie Camp Johnson. She was preceded in death by her son Wayne King and the love of her life, her husband, Reverend Douglas Lamar Hasty. Charlene worked for the Dyer family at Graphic Tufting Center prior to her retirement. She was a founding member of Freedom Baptist Church.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Kim (Travis) Miller of Dalton, granddaughters, Melissa (Josh) Whorton of Dalton, Natalie and Nicole King of Ridgeland, South Carolina; great grandchildren, Baylee and Tyler Whorton of Dalton, a sister, Carol (Bob) Nance of Calhoun and a brother, Leonard (Sandi) Johnson of Chickamauga, Ga., daughter in law Terri King of Ridgeland, SC., and special friend, Ken Stockman, of Rossville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The service to celebrate the life of Charlene will be held, Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Jumper officiating. Interment will follow the service at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Robert Michael Nance, Robert Michael Nance II, Nash Johnson Nance, Albert G. Hill IV, Tony Jones and J.T. Sanders having the honor as serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday June 1, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m.
