Clara Adair Thomas

Mrs. Clara Adair Thomas, age 91, of Calhoun, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, peacefully passed on to her Heavenly home on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at her home.

She was born on Tuesday, January 2nd, 1934, to the late Mr. Mark H and Mrs. Claude Davis Adair.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Mr. Herman Edward Thomas.  She is also preceded in death by her son, Michael Thomas, and her daughter, Phyllis Thomas.  She is also preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Edwards, and her two brothers, Charles Adair and Mark Adair, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Danny Goswick, who were blessed and privileged with the opportunity to welcome her into their home and take care of her for the last two years of her life.  She is also survived by her son, Lamar (Martha) Thomas.  She is further survived by her seven grandchildren, Missy (Nathan) Dixon, Stacey (Jason) Rogers, Greg (Brittany) Thomas, Andrea (Chad) Rhodes, Ashley (Kevin) Chitwood, Tanner (Meghan) Thomas, and Tyler (Ashely) Thomas; several great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Adair Thomas will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Cantrell officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in a private burial service in Stoner Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Adairsville, Georgia.

Her family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M until the service hour.

The family wishes to express their most sincere and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful care that Clara received from the Homespun Hospice team, especially nurses Shanna Butts and Alyssa Jeffrey.  Likewise, the family wishes to express that same heartfelt gratitude to Clara's special granddaughter, Andrea, who went above and beyond by helping to care for her grandmother during the final days of her life.
