Daniel Lee Higgins

Daniel Lee Higgins, 74, of Dalton passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Spence and Marion Higgins; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Higgins; brother, Spence Higgins Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Allison Higgins; daughters and sons-in-law, Merideth and Loyd Kirby, and Emily and Brad Ramsey; grandchildren, Ali and Michael Jones, Andy Kirby, Chase Ramsey, and Jackson Ramsey; great-grandson, Wesley Jones; brother, Maynard Higgins; lifelong friend, Lane Davies; other family and friends.

Lee was an active Boy Scout his entire life. As a youth he was a part of Troop 60 and attended the BSA National Jamboree. As an adult Lee was active with the Camp Sidney Dew Alumni Association. He served as President for two years and received the organizations highest award along with his brothers. Lee loved to camp, and a highlight of the year was an annual camping trip to Cumberland Island with his brother and good friend. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved adventure. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, traveling to national parks and most of all time spent with his family.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 until 5 PM at Love Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held.
