David Lanier Rice

David Lanier Rice passed away on April 1 , 2019.

He was born in Atlanta, GA on June 1 , 1937 to the late David and Erlyne Lanier Rice. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Robert “Bobby” Fleming Rice.

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Washer Rice; niece and her family, Dawn Rice Gooch, Tony, Elizabeth and Andrew; nephew and his family, Jeffery Rice, Katie, Teddy and Olivia; foster son and his wife, Hai Feng Peng and Kim; foster daughter and her family, America Hanson Close, Nathan and Nathaniel.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday at Grace Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Eades officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grace Presbyterian Building Fund (2107 Threadmill Rd. Dalton, GA 30720), Covenant College The Dalton Wilberforce Scholarship Fund (14049 Scenic Highway Lookout Mtn, GA 30750), or the Salvation Army (1101 N. Thornton Ave. Dalton, GA 30720).
