Dolores "Dee" Hickerson

Dee Hickerson, 89, of Dalton, GA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Dee always said she lived a full and blessed life.

A mother of 8 children, Dee was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Lloyd; Parents Rittie Edge and Loren Weaver; son Lee Hickerson and daughter Bambi Hickerson Kennedy.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, William L. Hickerson and six children: Pam Slater (Walter), Brenda Jenkins (Ted Kruggel), Kerry Betts (Karen), Jeff Hickerson (Violet), Roger Young (Leslie), and Lisa Young Faaborg (Bill). Dee also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandsons and 6 nieces.

Dolores was a loyal Navy wife and traveled wherever life carried them including to Saudi Arabia and England. Dee was an accredited AKC (American Kennel Club) show judge and dog show handler.

She and Bill enjoyed traveling nationally and internationally while judging and showing dogs for almost 50 years, and Square dancing whenever they could.

Dee was a devoted member of Valley Brook Church of God in Dalton.

Services will be at Valley Brook Church of God on Saturday, Sept. 19th at 2pm. Pastor Junior Clayton will officiate services.

Due to the Covid19 virus we request attendees wear a mask and social distance as much as possible to help prevent the spread and risk to the vulnerable.
