Donna Rene Hardin

Donna Rene Hardin, 64, of Dalton, loving mother and wife, departed this life on January 1, 2024. She was called home after over a year battle with lung cancer that had moved to the brain, having never smoked a day in her life. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Bonnie Shope; brother, Howard Shope; and father-in-law, Wayne Hardin.

Donna is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mark Hardin; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Michael Smith of Camden SC; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kim Hardin of Chatsworth GA; grandsons, Spencer, Aiden, and Micaiah Smith; sisters, Regina Davenport and Debra Mosley; mother-in-law, Carolyn Hardin; and nieces and nephews also survive.

Donna was a graduate of Dalton High School Class of 1977. She worked for over twenty (20) years in the Whitfield County Court System, as well as various medical and legal firms in Dalton. She loved camping with her family and traveling. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A funeral service for Donna Hardin will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Michael Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the First Baptist Church of Dalton Men’s Breakfast Group (P.
