Edmund (Ed) Lowery

Mr. Edmund (Ed) Lowery, 96, of Rocky Face, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Ridgewood Manor Health and Rehabilitation in Dalton. He was a World War II veteran serving his country in the Philippines from 1942 until the end of the war in 1945. After the war he was employed by Lee Printing Company where he retired in 1991. He was an ordained deacon and an active member of First Baptist Church of Dalton where he was part of the Scrap Iron Sunday School Class for many years.

Mr. Lowery is preceded in death by his wife, Sara Owens Lowery, who passed away in May, 2021, just after their 71 ^st wedding anniversary; parents, David Henley and Lena Self Lowery; brothers, James (Martha Rae) Lowery and Leonard (Ruth) Lowery; sisters, Lavada Lowery, Ada (Lloyd) Leonard, Sue (Ralph) Russell, and Judy (Ralph) Horton.

He is survived by his daughter and sons, Vicki (Rick) Crumpley, Eddie (Jodi) Lowery, and Kenny (Lori) Lowery; grandchildren, Carrie (Scott) Jennings, April (Brian) Ban, Miagan (John) Cobb, Lauren (Jonathan) Blair, Maddie (Joey) Varnell, Ashton Lowery, and Jillian Lowery; and great-grandchildren, Kannon Cobb, Charlie Cobb, Owen Ban, Lucy Ban, Amos Ban, Abigail Blair, Millie Blair, and Hadley Blair. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of First Baptist Church at 3 PM on Saturday. The family will receive guests in the Church Parlor from 2 PM until the time of the funeral. Burial will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to First Baptist Church of Dalton, P. O. Box 827, Dalton, GA 30722 .

The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgewood Manor for the compassion, care, and support given to Mr. and Mrs. Lowery over the past number of years.
