Edna Earl Mcdonald Orr

Edna Earl McDonald Orr went to be with the Lord on August 15th, 2024, at the young age of 96. She was born in Dawnville, GA on November 29th, 1927, and began her beautiful life with Ralph Wallace Orr (deceased) in 1947. Edna was an active member of the Dalton and Whitfield County communities throughout her life, retiring from Dalton Public Schools in 1993.

Along with her husband, Edna has reunited with her parents Colonel John and Lula Holcomb McDonald, siblings Jewel (Dobber) Renfroe, Alfred (Catherine), Cecil (Dot), Ernest, and CJ McDonald, and Ollie Mae Poteet.

Edna’s exceptional spirit continues through her daughter Angie (Michael) Manly, grandchildren Maegen (Patrick) Osborne, Maggie (Cameron) Cantrell, and Mark Manly along with her great-grandchildren, of whom she was most proud, Lane, Callie, and Annie Cantrell. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Grady Orr and sister-in-law Peggy McDonald.

A memorial visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Dalton on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Dalton, Garden Committee.
