Elaine Leverrett

Mrs. Velva Elaine Harris Leverrett, age 76, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at her home. She was born on September 30, 1946, in Lafayette, Georgia, to the late Gordon and Bertha Webb Harris. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Haggard, and brother, Jimmy Harris. Elaine's unwavering faith led her to be a devoted member of Pine Grove Baptist Church for over 40 years.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Tom Leverrett, with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage on August 21, 2023. She is also survived by her son, Jeff, and his wife, Brenda Leverrett, along with cherished grandchildren: Adrian, Maria, Angel, Julian, and Natalie, as well as her great-granddaughter, Miya. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her sisters, Brenda and Johnny Gass, Billie and Jeff Carlock, and Andrea and Rusty Hicks.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Elaine Leverrett will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 566 Mount Vernon Church Road, Jackson, Georgia, with Reverend Kelly Grant and Reverend Doug Mattox officiating.

In her lifetime, Elaine was a faithful servant of the Lord, and her legacy of devotion and love will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
