Elizabeth Cooper Brown, 94, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Hamilton Medical Center. Born on November 11, 1930, in Dalton, Elizabeth lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was a proud member of the Pleasant Grove High School Class of 1948 and the Central Church of Christ.
After dedicating 33 years of service to Brown Industry, Elizabeth enjoyed her retirement traveling with her beloved husband, Jack, through Knoxville Tours and the Whitfield Senior Center. In her later years, she found joy as a resident at Dalton Square, creating cherished memories with her resident friends.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and aunt. She was known for her gentle spirit, wisdom, wit, and her ability to bring joy and comfort to those around her. Her legacy of faith, generosity, and compassion touched countless lives. Throughout her life, she exemplified strength and perseverance through life’s challenges.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Cooper and Winnie Cooper Wood; her brother, Charles Cooper; her sister, Patricia Cooper Smith; her husband of 70 years, Julian Jack Brown; her daughter, Vickie Lynn Smith Kane; and several special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her son, Emory Donald Smith, and daughter-in-law, Beth Smith, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Patsy Brown; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Cooper, Brown, and Smith families, along with a multitude of special friends.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Hospice Care and the compassionate caregivers at Dalton Square Assisted Living.
Memorials may be made to Central Church of Christ (515 N. Tibbs Rd, Dalton, GA 30720) or to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive visitors on Friday from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at Love Funeral Home in Dalton, Georgia. A service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
